March 7th & 8th saw Santa Fe Complex’s first event and the city’s first-ever barcamp: ” an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants.” (More info on barcamps is available at the barcamp site.) While most attendees came from around the Santa Fe-Los Alamos area, others came from as far away as Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.
Over 50 people attended the event. Presentations ranged from the complex patterns of cell phone usage in Cambridge, MA, to the Digital History Project at Santa Fe Complex. Special thanks go to Sandia Corporation for loaning the high lumen projectors used by presenters at the event and to First Mile for loaning an oversized projection screen for the event.
