December 10 Council Vote Crucial for Santa Fe Complex
This Wednesday night, December 10, the Santa Fe City Council will review a proposal by Santa Fe Complex to develop workforce skills and create economic development opportunities through educational internships, collaborative workspaces and public education programs. If approved, the city would provide up to $165,000 per year for the next three years to implement the proposal.
The meeting begins at 7:15pm at the new convention center, located at 201 W. Marcy in downtown Santa Fe. The convention center is shown in this map. sfComplex’s proposal is item 7 on the “Public Hearings” portion of the agenda, which is available here. You can show your support for Santa Fe Complex by attending this important meeting.
The council’s review is the final stage of a process that began in August when the city issued a request for proposals for innovative economic development projects (RFP #09/02/P). The RFP was reviewed by city staff, the Economic Development Review Subcommittee, and the Business & Quality of Life Committee, all of which recommended the city adopt sfX’s proposal.
This funding creates a solid financial basis for Santa Fe Complex, especially in the current economic climate. You can help by attending the meeting to let your councilors know what the complex means to you. You can also ask them to support Santa Fe Complex’s RFP: just call or email:
