This Wednesday, December 10, the City Council will decide whether to support the work of Santa Fe Complex. This important decision will determine whether we can continue our efforts at Santa Fe Complex to create a community studio building connections across art, science and technology.

You Can Help

We’ve had tremendous community response to the complex since our grand opening in June. You can show the councilors your support by coming to the meeting on December 10 at 7:00 in the convention center at 201 W. Marcy. Or, if you prefer, you can call or email your counselor with a message of support for sfX. Better yet, you can do both. SFMax/MSP Users Group

The first meeting of SFMax, a Max/MSP users group for experts, novices and anyone who is curious about merging traditional and contemporary music, is scheduled for Friday, November 7. All things MAX will be included in the group’s meetings: MIDI control, audio processing, video processing (Jitter), interactivity (sensors and device control), Max resources on-line, third party externals and applications (performance, video, installations, etc.).

GUTS Club at sfX

Project GUTS — Growing Up Thinking Scientifically — has added Santa Fe Complex as a host for its after-school science, technology, engineering and math programs. Beginning Friday, December 5, the youth education program will meet at the complex from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
GUTS is a summer and after-school science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) project for middle school students based in Santa Fe, New Mexico and serving northern New Mexico. Growing up thinking scientifically means learning to look at the world and ask questions, develop answers to the questions through scientific inquiry, and design solutions to their problems. more…


Civilization as an Art Form

Join Ann Racuya-Robbins, founder of the World Knowledge Bank, as she discusses her career exploring the concept of “wholeperception” and the corresponding concept of civilization as an art form. Racuya-Robbins proposes that each human being’s life experience is an intrinsically creative insight into life and argues that all lives, in the composite, create a work of art called civilization.
