Santa Fe Complex and SolidCAM, a world leader in computer-aided machine design, are launching an educational program to teach high school students the principles of modern, computer-based, machine design using Lego robotics and SolidCAM’s industry-standard programming software. Anyone from age 14 and up is invited to become a member of the project team.

Prior knowledge or experience in modern machining technology is not a prerequisite for participation as this will be an educational exercise teaching skills in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, and computer programming. Wednesday’s meeting is aimed specifically at building the project team. It will be a meet-and-greet with a short demonstration/presentation and refreshments.

SolidCAM, the leading and fastest growing supplier of integrated CAM software solutions for the manufacturing industry, was once again named the most rapidly-growing CAM vendor worldwide by prominent consulting and market research firm, CIMdata. The Israel-based company is providing funding and software licenses for this project, which is designed and developed by SolidCAM engineer Zac Prater with help from Santa Fe systems designer Patrick French. For more information, email Zac (zprater at solidcam dot com) or call the complex. solidcam
