Santa Fe Alliance Business Development Workshops

The Santa Fe Alliance will present a Triple Bottom Line workshop, the first in a series of business workshops, Tuesday, April 28 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Complex. Sponsored by the New Mexico Community Development Loan Fund, the Santa Fe Alliance Business Development Workshops were launched in 2007 in order to present seminars on business-related topics such as marketing, customer service, entrepreneurial tools, licensing, organizational change, and successful business growth.

Free and open to the community, this workshop will thoroughly examine the triple bottom line form of reporting that takes into account the impact your business has in terms of social and environmental values along with financial returns, or, more commonly explained as people, planet and profit.

Maggie Seeley will present and facilitate the workshop. She is an international business consultant, an organizational development specialist, a professor of sustainability at University of New Mexico, and a mentor to many. We have also invited two owners of local businesses that practice triple bottom line accounting: Mark Choyt of Reflective Images and Randy Sadewic of Postive Energy Solar.

The New Mexico Community Development Loan Fund is a private, tax-exempt organization that provides loans, training and business consulting to entrepreneurs, business owners and non-profit organizations throughout the state and the entire Navajo Nation. Their services support the efforts of low-income individuals and their communities to achieve self-reliance and control over their economic destinies. The Loan Fund has successfully assisted hundreds of small business owners and non-profit organizations over the years.

The next workshops in the series will be held June 30, with Group Coaching Consultant, Rich Freeman, and September 29, with Drew Tulchin of Social Enterprises discussing Plan B Corporations.
