LA + NM = Experimental Jazz
Cornetist and composer Dan Clucas joins four of New Mexico’s finest improvising musicians for an evening of jazz and experimental music at the Complex on Saturday, November 28 beginning at 8:00pm. Clucas lives and works in Los Angeles, where he has been integrally involved in the new music scene for over 20 years. He has performed and recorded with such luminaries as Nels Cline, Steuart Liebig and Michael Vlatkovich, as well as leading his own ensembles. Beginning in 2003, and stemming from his association with tuba player Mark Weaver, Clucas began to cultivate a relationship with New Mexico and its musicians. This concert will be his first outing as a leader in Santa Fe.
