How to Do Joint R&D
Noted intellectual property attorney Bruce Winchell returns to the Complex on November 3 for the second of two discussions on intellectual property for collaborative communities. This presentation will help you to make business decisions about how to build into your business protections for the intellectual property that you have. Different kinds of intellectual property have different uses and this seminar will explain those differences and how to use them to your advantage in your business.
Bruce is a registered patent attorney in the United States, a registered patent agent in Canada, and licensed to practice law before the federal courts and the state courts of Ohio and Tennessee in the United States. He is a certified licensing professional by the Licensing Executives Society US/Canada. Bruce is a Sandia National Laboratories senior attorney assigned to Technology Ventures Corporation under the Sandia National Laboratories contract. He assists TVC clients with their business case preparation, intellectual property strategies, and frequently presents in entrepreneurial seminars.
Bruce has practiced intellectual property law, government contracts law and technology business law for several elements of the Lockheed Martin Corporation and the Martin Marietta Corporation, including Oak Ridge National laboratory, Sandia National laboratories and other government owned R&D institutions. Bruce earned a BS in chemistry, a BA in speech, and a Juris Doctor. He has taught business law, government contracts law, teaming arrangements in the public sector, intellectual property law, nonprofit business entities law, and e-business law for several law schools and MBA programs.
