Miller says, “Over the past twenty years Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico have attracted some of the best and the brightest in art and science, in religion and spirituality, in green technology and design. Many of these highly innovative individuals and organizations have visions of transforming the world.”
He goes on to describe his blueprint:
“A Renaissance happens at crucial moments in human history. Renaissances are not simply spurts of creative innovation. There is an overarching coherence to the collective creative process. In essence Renaissances are crucial for germinating a new coherence, a new structure for viewing the world.
“Vaclav Havel, playwright and former president of the Czech Republic speaks of such periods of history as a “a mixing and blending of cultures, and a plurality of intellectual and spiritual worlds – when all consistent value systems collapse and cultures distant in time and space are discovered or rediscovered.” Havel goes on to urge our central task now is “the creation of a new model of coexistence among the various cultures, peoples, races, and religious spheres within a single interconnected civilization.”
“Blueprint for a New Renaissance is a project, a non-profit business, creating a meta-networking system – creatively and supportively connecting innovators from the arts and humanities, science and technology, community development and design, religion and spirituality to share their visions in designing a New Renaissance – becoming a catalyst for a new culture.
“This multidisciplinary meta-network creates a synergy of vision and innovation – both creatively collaborative and materially supportive. New ideas, processes and products are created as well as projects and works of art dedicated to creating a new paradigm and a new culture. The synergy of their interconnectiveness leads to creative innovation far greater than if done in isolation. Blueprint for a New Reniassance is an Ark created for the collective success of the participants of the meta-network.”
John Miller has a masters in theology with a dual specialization in psychology and eastern studies from Southern Methodist University. Living in Northern New Mexico for over 30 years, he has practiced as a psychotherapist, social worker and clinical pastoral counselor, in hospitals, churches and community settings. With a lifelong commitment to the integration of science, art and spirituality, he believes in the ontological integration of culture, history and community which is taking us to the next phase in human history.
