He will be accompanied by Jeremy Barnes, of New Mexico itinerants “A Hawk and A Hacksaw” and indie darlings, “Neutral Milk Hotel,” on drums.Cooper-Moore has for years played with some of the best jazz musicians around–David S. Ware, William Parker, and Hamid Drake, among others. This is his first visit to New Mexico, where he will showcase his amazing virtousity at the “diddley bow,” the “twanger” and the “horizontal hoe-handle harp.” He might even sit down at the piano.

Cooper-Moore (b. 1946) is an American jazz pianist, composer and instrument builder/designer based in New York City. In 1970, he formed a collective trio, Apogee, with saxophonist David S. Jeremy Barnes is the founding member of “A Hawk and a Hacksaw” and former drummer of the now-defunct band “Neutral Milk Hotel.” He has also worked and recorded with Bright Eyes, Beirut, Broadcast, Bablicon, The Gerbils, Alan Jenkins and The Thurston Lava Tube.
