When Andrew Edwards and Sarah Cote proposed an art show of cross-disciplinary works by students at the College of Santa Fe, they called their event Canary in a Coal Mine in a nod to the uncertain status of their school, the College of Santa Fe, and the proverbial role of canaries as harbingers of bad times. Software Design at sfX

The Complex is hosting a 3-credit course in software design beginning Saturday, February, 28. The class is a fully accredited undergraduate, upper division program through New Mexico Highlands University taught by Dave West, who has been a professor at NMSU, the College of Santa Fe, and the University of St. Paul in Minnesota. Project GUTS — Growing Up Thinking Scientifically — has added Santa Fe Complex as a host for its after-school science, technology, engineering and math programs. Beginning Friday, December 5, the youth education program will meet at the complex from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
GUTS is a summer and after-school science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) project for middle school students based in Santa Fe, New Mexico and serving northern New Mexico. Growing up thinking scientifically means learning to look at the world and ask questions, develop answers to the questions through scientific inquiry, and design solutions to their problems. Read more
